Hope-full Reflections

Carol A. Hand

Is hope fading with every wearing

or seeping inside concealed as deeper caring?

A question to ponder on laundry day

dressed in my secondhand clothes

Secondhand “hope”

  1. Carol, I like to think that hope isn’t fading but as your write so eloquently is “seeping inside concealed as deeper caring”. Thoughtful words this Friday monring! ❤️ also would like to say how much I like the Emily Dickinson quote from Natalie!

  2. Hi Carol,
I once again tried to like your post, but could not. WordPress has not even acknowledged nor fixed the error of telling folks that I have deleted my blog. Thanks for giving me the heads up, by the way. 🙂

    1. Hi Robyn. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments, and for letting me know about the WordPress challenges you have been having. I wonder if it’s a “simple” fix. It might be something you can do by checking to make sure the blog address listed on your avatar is correct. (It can be reached by clicking the circle icon in the upper right corner of the screen. You can access your profile and make changes if need be.) I’m not sure if you will be able to see this reply, so I’ll post it on your blog, too. 🙂

    1. Thank you for your lovely comments, Lynn. I couldn’t resist. It was laundry day and I happened to see the glitter from my “secondhand hope” shirt on the floor by the dryer. It made me laugh and wonder if the shirt would one day lose all its glitter from too many washes. I grabbed my camera to see if I could take a photo to record “hope” while it was still visible – and the poem was born… 🙂
